Decameron: Not Too Shabby [X/2]
I’ll tell ya the funny thing about this pandemic, Jeanine: I’m kind of... loving it! Oh, you know, I feel bad about it and all that— you know, people dying— but to be honest, a lot of things, pandemic-wise, have turned out not too shabby for me.
Sure, that dip in the market at the beginning was a bit— you know— but we made sure to buy at the low and are looking pretty good right now. Plus, it’s not like I ever really needed to be at the office anyway. With no commute, I can pass my time between Zoom calls getting a walk around the estate in. There are rooms in my house that I never used to go in that I’m rediscovering for the first time in years. I’m feeling fitter than ever. It’s great, Jeanine.
Remember that stomach issue I told you about, the one that was just making me feel awful? Turns out it’s almost entirely disappeared. I Zoomed my doctor the other day— you know, the one I got on retainer— and she thinks it was all the sushi I was eating for lunch by the office that was doing it. Now that they’ve shut down and my diet’s changed to what we’ve got at home (simple things, really; just crudités), I’m feeling worlds better. This has all really worked out just super for me.
Anyway, Jeanine, I hope you and Tom are well. I think you mentioned your son was out of work, but I bet he’s looking forward to getting back to it— especially since the end of those fancy unemployment benefits should be giving him a little boost out the door, ha-ha!
Kisses,
Abe
