Decameron: Reboot [IV/9]
Reboot the what?
The Decameron.
Huh, never read that one, it’s a plague thing right?
100 tales, one per week day, all set in-
That’s a lot of tales.
Right, but if we divvie them up—
I know, I know, but still.
Alright I see a lot of potential in here, some of these are classics, but don’t you think it might, like, drag on a bit? Maybe in week eight?
I think so, but generally in my experience if we just push through that then we’ll get on..
… we’ll get on the other side of it, right, no you’re right, maybe a bit punchier but in a groove no less. Yeah, you’re right.
But 100 tales! Seems like a lot. Don’t you think it’s an issue that like half the tales on day three are, well,
Bed tricks, yeah, gross, I feel like we’ll figure it out by then though, worst case scenario we go meta about it.
Not a fan of meta but yeah it’s a tool in the toolbox we just can’t overuse it.
Eh, let’s not set unsustainable expectations.
Fair. Reboots are alright, I’m game.
Although look, here, on day four, one of the tales is literally just a retelling of the same tale told just the previous week.
A reboot!
And based on the schedule I see here, the same person will have to figure out a way to tell it a second time!
What happens?
Someone poisons someone else.
And?
I mean, that’s the gist of it.
Well that does give me a fun idea about a water park.
But does it give you a second idea.
We’ll have weeks until that needs to happen.
I guess you’re right!
I’m sure you won’t disappoint!
Well, like you said, let’s not set unsustainable expectations.
